Mount Sinai, over night Excursion from Sharm El Sheikh to Moses Mountain, hike to the top of Mount Sinai to the sunrise and visit St. Catherine Monastery.

The monastery: Situated at the base of the mountain where Moses received the Ten Commandments, St Catherine's Monastery is one of the most famous in the world. Built between 527 and 565 AD, it is believed to be built around Moses' Burning Bush. The Monastery is named after St Catherine who was tortured and beheaded for her Christian beliefs. During your visit you will see chapel Greek Orthodox Church, the icons of worship and the famous Mosaic of Transfiguration.

Travel the desert road to St. Catherine’s where you will climb Mount Sinai (the climb takes approximately 2 – 3 hours) to witness the spectacular Egyptian sunrise, a truly breathtaking experience. After sunrise descend the mountain and visit St. Catherine’s Monastery which houses the Chapel of the Burning Bush, said to be the site where Moses saw the burning bush. Priceless works of art, monastery icons and one of the most important collections of illuminated manuscripts in the world are all housed in the monastery complex. Enjoy breakfast at a nearby hotel before the return transfer to your hotel in Sharm.
